"The hall is still and silent..." This poem captures those precious moments before we partake of the
sacrament, a time of waiting, reflection, and seeking. We've all been there, watching as "The bread
is broken, blessed, sent out to every seeking row." It's a powerful symbol of Christ's love and
Atonement.
The poem then shifts inward, exploring the effort to "Try to hear above the fray, His calm and
caring voice inside." How often do we struggle to hear that still, small voice? In Doctrine and
Covenants 88:68, the Lord teaches us to "Sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to
God..."
Taking the sacrament with a "shaking hand" suggests humility and reverence. As we partake, we renew
our covenants to "always remember him and keep his commandments" (Moroni 4:3). Each sacrament
meeting becomes an opportunity to commune with God.
This poem invites us to reflect: How do you prepare your heart to receive the emblems of His love?
Let us strive to make each sacrament meeting more meaningful. Remember His words in 3 Nephi 18:7,
"And it shall be a testimony unto the Father that ye do always remember me. And if ye do always
remember me ye shall have my Spirit to be with you."

🌅 Even on our hardest mornings, grace finds its way in. This piece explores the sacred cycle of
repentance—not as a burden, but as a gift that transforms our heaviest moments into opportunities
for divine connection.
As Alma taught his son Corianton, repentance isn't just about leaving our sins behind—it's about
making space for joy to enter (Alma 42:29-30). Each time we humble ourselves before the Lord, we're
not just fixing mistakes; we're participating in an eternal principle of growth and renewal.
"Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow" (Isaiah 1:18) isn't just beautiful
poetry—it's a promise that plays out in our lives again and again, turning our "morning of pearl"
into a new beginning. The grace that makes this possible isn't just a one-time gift—it's as
consistent as sunrise, as personal as prayer.
To every missionary who has felt the weight of imperfection: your willingness to begin again is
itself a testimony of Christ's healing power. "By small and simple things are great things brought
to pass" (Alma 37:6), including the daily miracle of starting fresh in His grace.

"Bread, broken soft, a whispered plea.
Not so His hands, that bled for me."
These lines speak to the heart of missionary service - sacrifice, love, and finding the divine in
everyday moments. Just as this poem weaves together powerful imagery and emotion, each mission is
filled with unique experiences that shape us, teach us, and connect us to something greater. Every
returned missionary has a story to tell, a collection of moments where they felt the light of the
divine.
"So we may seek, in our day's task,
That humble grace, that quiet ask."
If you're looking for a way to preserve those sacred moments, to weave together your memories,
photos, and journal entries into a lasting keepsake, LDS Mission Poetry can help. We specialize in
crafting custom poetry that captures the essence of your mission, a treasure to return to, again and
again.

2025 brings new light, new chances, and new souls to touch. As missionaries across the world step
into another year of service, I'm reminded of how each conversation, each teaching moment, and each
shared testimony creates ripples that extend far beyond our view.
This poem emerged from reflecting on those precious dawn hours - when the world is still quiet and
our purpose feels crystal clear. Just like those moments on the mission field stay with us forever,
I believe in capturing them in ways that last.
Your mission story deserves to be preserved in its full beauty. Whether through simple verses like
this one or a complete collection of memories transformed into poetry, let's make sure these sacred
experiences continue to inspire. DM me to learn how we can turn your mission journals into a custom
poetry book that will keep these memories alive for generations.

Two kinds of inspiration, one shared purpose. 🖋️✨
As I watch missionaries capture their spiritual promptings in daily planners and journals, I realize
we both chase inspiration - they listened for guidance at doorsteps while I searched for the right
words to capture their dedication.
This poem explores how a missionary's spiritual inspiration and a poet's creative spark intertwine.
Sometimes the holiest moments happen when pen meets paper, whether you're recording miracles in a
missionary journal or crafting verses about those sacred experiences.

The Light of Christ illuminates even the darkest corners, turning shadows into songs and despair
into hope. This poem reflects the beauty of His eternal gift—a flame that transforms lives, restores
faith, and brings light to the world.
Writing it reminded me of the powerful stories missionaries share—the moments of doubt turned to
belief, and the quiet triumphs that echo His love. These experiences inspire every line I write for
LDS Mission Poetry.
Every poem, like this one, is a testament to the Savior’s light in our lives. May we all carry His
light and let it shine, wherever we are.

find ourselves reaching, sometimes in the dark, for the threads that connect us to that sacred time.

📖 Sacred Spaces, Sacred Encounters
Every spiritual journey begins with a step into the unknown, just as Joseph Smith's footsteps led
him into that morning grove. As missionaries across the world leave their own homes to serve, they
too find sacred spaces - quiet moments in Philippine jungles, Korean apartments, Brazilian favelas,
or African villages where heaven touches earth.
These divine encounters shape not just our missions, but our eternal understanding. The pattern was
set in the Sacred Grove - seeking, kneeling, receiving. Each missionary follows this divine pattern,
finding their own sacred spaces where the veil grows thin and revelation flows.
At LDS Mission Poetry, we believe these transformative moments deserve to be preserved in verse.
Just as the First Vision has inspired countless hymns and poems, your missionary experiences carry
that same sacred power. We craft custom poetry that captures these eternal truths, these moments
when heaven meets earth, these personal revelations that change hearts and build testimonies.
Every mission holds these sacred encounters. Whether it's a quiet morning in Mongolia where the
Spirit whispers truth, or a humble home in Mexico where a family first feels the light of the gospel
- these are the moments that deserve to be remembered, shared, and preserved.
Let us help you capture your sacred moments in verse. Because every missionary's story is part of
the continuing restoration, every testimony adds to the gathering of Israel, and every sacred
encounter deserves to be remembered in words that reach toward heaven.
🌅 Custom mission poetry that honors your sacred experiences.

🌟 "The Furnace of Faith" 🌟
Inspired by Mosiah 23:21–22, this poem reflects on how the Lord, in His infinite wisdom, sees fit to
refine us through trials. The imagery of the forge reminds us that chastening isn't about
punishment—it's about transformation. The heat, the pressure, the weight—they are all part of His
divine design to mold us into something far greater than we can imagine.
When I wrote this, I wanted to capture that journey: the questioning, the refining, and finally, the
realization that His hands are always shaping us with love. 💛
📖 Do you or someone you love have a story of faith, struggle, and growth during an LDS mission? My
passion is turning missionaries’ emails, journal entries, and experiences into custom poetry books
that preserve their journey and testimony forever.
💌 Send me a message if you’d like to learn more—I’d love to help you tell your story in a way that

Finished up a new poem tonight, inspired by Moroni's unexpected addendum at the end of the Book of
Mormon. He thought he was done, ready to seal up the plates, but felt prompted to write "a few more
things" for future generations. It's that feeling of having more to give, even when you think you've
reached the end of your capacity, that resonates so deeply. I tried to capture that mix of weariness
and hope in this piece - the solitary work, the weight of the past, and the unwavering belief in the
future. It reminds me of the stories I hear from returned missionaries, the unexpected lessons
learned, the extra mile walked. And just like Moroni, we often find ourselves with "a few more
things" to share, long after we thought we'd said goodbye. Perhaps those are the words that matter
most.

In "Approaching Light," I wanted to capture something I've observed both in scripture and in the
hundreds of missionary journals I've had the privilege to work with at LDS Mission Poetry - this
beautiful pattern of how spiritual knowledge transforms our relationship with God. The poem traces
our journey from spiritual infancy (where we're as blind as cave-fish, barely knowing how to reach
toward heaven) to a place of deeper communion where we actually know how to speak with deity. You
see this in prophets' lives, in missionaries' journeys, and in our own walk toward understanding:
the more we know of God's character and ways, the more effectively we can approach Him.
What strikes me most, while crafting poetry books for returned missionaries from their letters and
journals, is how universal this pattern is. Just like the natural imagery in the poem - seeds
learning to become flowers, windows transforming to thresholds - we all go through this process of
learning heaven's language. It's not that God is ever hiding His light; we're just gradually
developing the capacity to perceive and receive it. The poem ends with this intimate moment of being
known and named by deity because that's ultimately what this progression leads to: not just knowing
how to ask, but being known in return. It's the same journey I see in every missionary's story, just
expressed here through the lens of prayer and divine tutoring.
Nov 19, 2024 7:17 pm
In crafting poetry collections from missionaries' letters and journals, we often find a turning
point – that moment when they realize their inadequacy isn't a flaw in the plan, but part of it.
This poem, "Grace," emerged from Ether 12:27's profound paradox. The clay knows its flaws. Every
missionary understands this: the knot in your stomach before street contacting, the trembling hands
before teaching, those moments of feeling utterly inadequate to represent Christ.
But notice: "The potter presses deeper." Grace doesn't eliminate weakness – it works through it.
Those spaces that felt like breaking points? They become vessels for holding God's power. Like water
finding stone's low places, grace fills our fault lines gold.
We see this story again and again in missionary journals: shy elders becoming bold testifiers, past
heartbreaks opening doors to healing others, stumbling language skills creating moments of pure
connection. The miracle isn't that God removes our weaknesses, but that He transforms them into
channels of His strength.
That's what each poetry collection we create aims to capture – not just missionary experiences, but
the beautiful paradox of how God turns broken vessels into masterpieces, their cracks filled with
gold.

🌅 "Mission of Light" - A moment of reflection on sacred service, inspired by the mystical poetry
style of Alfonso Cortés (a remarkable Nicaraguan poet) and my deep appreciation for missionary work.
Every missionary knows that feeling - standing at a door, Book of Mormon in hand, heart racing with
hope. In these simple moments, the sacred and everyday merge: each stranger becomes a potential
friend, each conversation a chance for light to spread.
Tried to capture how Christ's presence makes even the most ordinary streets feel holy. From Alma's
sons to today's missionaries in their name tags, some things never change - when we serve others,
we're never alone on the path. 🙏✨

🌳✨ From Gethsemane to your mission field:
When we serve others, we participate in the great work of gathering grief and shouldering burdens.
Sometimes the most sacred moments happen while others sleep - whether it's your companion resting

This piece was inspired by Robert Hayden's reflections on unrecognized sacrifice, reimagined through
the lens of the Atonement. Every missionary's early mornings, tired feet, and rejected messages echo
in their own small way the pattern of the Master Teacher.

🕊️ Sacred Hours, Sacred Powers
"As evening fades and work is laid to rest,
The sacred day unfolds with gentle grace.
Each soul, once burdened, now divinely blessed,
In halls of prayer finds its appointed place.
The sacrament, a covenant renewed,
Reminds us of His sacrifice divine;
Our hearts, once scattered, gather and conclude
That peace flows sweetly when we realign.
Through scripture's page and family's warm embrace,
We find the strength to face another week.
The world grows distant as we seek His face,
And find the answers faithful hearts still seek.
This day of days, set apart and pure,
Builds faith and testimony strong and sure."
The Lord commanded us to "remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy" (Exodus 20:8), but in D&C
59:9-13 He revealed an even deeper purpose: that we might keep ourselves "unspotted from the world."
Each Sunday brings a sacred renewal - through sacrament, scripture, and precious moments with
family.
Like the Nephites who "were strict in observing the sabbath" (Jarom 1:5), we find that setting this
day apart brings special blessings. It's more than just rest - it's a weekly covenant that, as this
poem explores, allows us to "realign" our hearts with heaven.
[This poem's meter mirrors the peaceful rhythm of a well-kept Sabbath, with each quatrain building
toward the final couplet's testimony. I can also write custom poetry for your family's special
moments - DM for details.]

📖✨ "Peace Upon the Waters" - A sacred moment captured in verse
In crafting this pyramid poem about the Savior walking on water, I wanted to mirror how our
testimonies build from a single moment of peace into an unshakeable foundation of faith. Just like
the apostles witnessing this miracle on the Sea of Galilee, our missionaries today step into unknown
waters, trusting in the Master's call.
The poem's shape isn't just artistic choice - it represents how a single step of faith (like opening
your mission call or teaching your first lesson) can expand into something magnificent. From "Peace"
at the apex to "The sea grows still beneath the Master's presence" at the base, each line reflects
the growing power of discipleship.
To our beloved missionaries serving across the globe: Like Peter, you may face moments when the
storms seem overwhelming. But remember - the same Lord who calmed the Galilee watches over you as
you serve. Your journals and letters home are modern-day testimonies of Christ's continuing work.

📖 Mormon's Story Through Poetry
Ever notice how some of the most powerful moments in scripture feel like poetry? The verses from
Mormon 1-6 tell us about a young prophet-general who loved his people with his whole soul, even as
they turned away from God.
Mormon was chosen at just 10 years old to be a future record keeper, and by 16 he was leading
armies. Yet through all the battles and bloodshed, his greatest weapon was his prayers - offered up
day after day for his people, even when they refused to change.
I tried to capture this profound mix of love and heartache in "A General's Prayer":
"I led them through the blood-stained fields of war,
My heart consumed with love they could not see.
Three times I brought them safely back from far,
Yet still their hearts refused to bend the knee.
My prayers rose up like incense through the night
For those whose souls grew harder day by day—
A father watching children shun the light,
While heaven's mercy slowly slips away."
The enjambment (lines flowing into each other) mirrors Mormon's continuous efforts, while the
imagery of "prayers rising like incense" echoes his constant devotion.
The metaphor of a father watching his children captures that deep, protective love he felt.
What moves me most about Mormon's story is how familiar it feels to modern missionaries. That same
pure love for people, that same dedication to serve even when hearts are hard. There's something
beautiful about how these patterns of love and service echo through the centuries.

In the quiet moments before writing this piece, I found myself reflecting on how the temple stands
as both a physical and spiritual beacon in our lives. Just as pioneers once looked to the Salt Lake
Temple rising from the valley floor, we too seek these houses of light in our modern wilderness.
The imagery of "temples white as morning frost" came to me while thinking about how our temples
pierce the dawn, catching first light like sentinels of eternity. Each one stands as a promise
fulfilled - the promise that no matter where we are in this world, we can find a place where heaven
and earth meet.
This poem emerged from countless stories shared with me by returning missionaries, who often speak
of their first glimpse of a temple in their mission field, or the moment they helped an investigator
understand the eternal significance of temple covenants. Their experiences remind us that each
temple stands as a physical manifestation of hope - "like dawning suns in God's eternal dawn."

Like a flower unfurling or a mountain path ascending, revelation unfolds gradually, revealing deeper
meaning and broader perspectives with each step we take. Open your heart to the continuous journey
of understanding, and embrace the ever-expanding beauty of truth.
A bud unfurling slowly, petal by petal bright,
Revealing hidden beauty in the morning's gentle light.
So too does understanding blossom, with patient, quiet grace,
Unveiling deeper meaning in time and sacred space.
The mountain path ascending, a winding, upward climb,
Each step reveals a broader view, a truth that transcends time.
And as we journey forward, with faith as our guide,
The boundless realm of knowledge continues to open wide.

Sometimes I wonder about that child - the one who offered up their small lunch when thousands were
hungry. Did they hesitate? Did they understand what was about to unfold? In a crowd of adults who
saw scarcity, a young heart saw possibility. That's what strikes me most about this miracle: it
began with someone small saying "here's what I have" rather than "it's not enough." And from that
tiny act of generosity, abundance flowed. Like ripples spreading across the Galilean waters, grace
multiplied until every person's hunger was satisfied, with baskets of leftovers besides. It reminds
me that our "not enough" in divine hands becomes more than plenty. Even today, when the world's
needs seem overwhelming, I think of that child's lunch - five loaves, two fish, and a willingness to
share. Perhaps miracles still begin this way: not with grand gestures, but with simple offerings
given in faith, transforming scarcity into feast, strangers into community, and emptiness into
overflow. When we dare to offer what little we have, we might just witness our own loaves and fishes
moment.

Feel what you feel and give the rest to Christ
Oct 21, 2024 7:51 pm
The journey upward, like the climb towards spiritual understanding, demands effort but offers
breathtaking rewards. Each step on the path, each "stone step ascending," brings us closer to the
divine presence. This poem reflects that personal journey, the ascent towards a higher
understanding, symbolized by a mountain peak. Just as we climb a mountain for the stunning view, we
seek spiritual growth for the peace and clarity it provides. The "sun-kissed granite" represents the
solid foundation of faith upon which we build, while the "whispers of peace" hint at the serenity
found in connection with the divine. Ultimately, the climb culminates in a "heaven's embrace" at the
summit, a metaphor for the profound sense of belonging and purpose we discover when we connect with
our spiritual center. Where do you find your moments of spiritual connection? What "mountains" do
you climb in your search for meaning?

This poem reflects on how Christ's teachings, like a cherished book passed down through generations,
offer timeless wisdom and guidance. From ancient prophets to modern revelation, the "gold-leafed

offering a "legacy of love" to all who seek it.

Beloved friends, today we dive into one of the most touching moments in the Book of Mormon -
Christ's ministry among the Nephites. This poem is inspired by His profound words in 3 Nephi 17:
"and my joy is full."

members, we have the privilege of sharing this joy with others. When we serve, teach, and love as
the Savior did, we too can experience the fullness of joy He promises.

📖✨ New poem alert! 🕯️🙏
Friends, I'm excited to share this simple yet powerful 6-line poem inspired by early American
religious verse. As missionaries, we often find beauty in simplicity, and this style resonates
deeply with the pure testimony we share.
"On Calvary's hill, our Savior bled,
To wash away our sins of red.
His mercy, like the morning light,
Dispels the shadows of our night.
O soul, embrace this gift so free,
And walk in faith eternally."
This poem captures the essence of Christ's atonement and the invitation to all to embrace His love.
It's a reminder of why we serve and the message we carry to the world.
Whether you're currently serving a mission or carrying the light of Christ in your daily life, I
hope these words strengthen your testimony and inspire you to share it.

"effortless action." It's not about doing nothing, but about aligning with the natural flow of life.
In meditation and daily life, mui teaches us to be present without forcing outcomes. It's the
practice of letting go, allowing things to unfold naturally, and finding strength in stillness.
This poem explores mui's essence: the peace in being rather than constantly doing. It reminds us
that sometimes, the most powerful act is simply to be - fully present and aware, without striving or
resistance.
Take a moment to reflect on these words. How might embracing mui bring more harmony and ease into
your life? Remember, in the dance of existence, there's profound wisdom in knowing when to move and
when to be still.

Charity is not measured by the size of our wallets, but by the depth of our hearts. It’s the quiet,
unseen gestures that often have the greatest impact—a kind word, a helping hand, a moment of time
shared with someone in need. It is a light that shines through the darkest of times, guiding us all
towards hope and healing. True charity isn’t about recognition or reward, but about the silent
transformation it brings, not just to the receiver, but to the giver as well. In giving, we find
ourselves lifted, and in kindness, we heal wounds that words alone cannot reach.

In the quiet moments of reflection, we often find the most profound truths. It's not in the grandeur
of cathedrals or the eloquence of sermons, but in the stillness of our own hearts that we truly
encounter the divine.
Each day offers us a chance to cultivate humility, to open ourselves to love that transcends
understanding. Like a seed in fertile soil, faith grows not through force, but through nurture and
patience. It's a journey of small steps, of gentle awakenings.
True peace isn't found in the absence of challenges, but in the presence of unwavering faith. It's
the calm in the storm, the strength in vulnerability, the light in darkness. As we walk this path,
may we remember that every act of kindness, every moment of gratitude, every gesture of forgiveness
is a testament to the love that resides within and around us.
Let us be gentle with ourselves and others as we navigate this beautiful, complex journey of
spiritual growth. For in the end, it's not about perfection, but progression – not about reaching a
destination, but about transforming through the journey itself.

The gospel of Christ likened to nitroglycerin - powerful, yet volatile in its pure form. Just as
nitroglycerin becomes stable and useful when combined with diatomaceous earth to create dynamite,
the gospel finds its full potential when coupled with the structure of the Church and the authority
of the priesthood. This combination creates a force that's both potent and manageable, capable of
transforming lives and elevating souls. It reminds us that raw spiritual power, when channeled
through divinely appointed means, becomes a tool for personal growth and eternal progression. In
this beautiful synergy, we find the strength to navigate life's challenges and ascend to greater
spiritual heights.

Family is where our story begins—where our laughter, our tears, and our triumphs all find their
home. These bonds we share aren't just moments; they're threads that weave us together, creating a
tapestry of connection that stretches beyond time.
We all face challenges—storms that test us, moments that seem to pull us in different directions.
But it's in those very moments that the strength of our family becomes clear. The people we love are
the ones who lift us when we fall, guide us when we're lost, and celebrate with us when we rise.
"Family Ties" is a reminder that no matter the distance, no matter the storms, the love we share
remains constant. Our family's story is written not just in the good times, but also in the way we
stand together through every challenge. It's the promise that we're not alone, and that our souls
are forever entwined.
To everyone who has been there as family—by blood, by choice, by shared experiences—this is for you.
Our bond is endless, our love unbreakable, and together, we are forever.

Baptism is more than a ritual—it’s a moment where the soul meets renewal. A gentle dawn breaking
over the heart, where shadows are washed away in the quiet embrace of light. It's a promise, fragile
yet profound, a new beginning where burdens are lifted and peace takes root. Each drop is a witness
to transformation, a softening of edges, a return to love. This is the essence of rebirth, the quiet
ripple that echoes into eternity.

In the architecture of life, we are all builders. This shaped poem, inspired by the timeless parable
of the wise and foolish builders, reminds us of the profound impact our choices have on our
resilience.
Like the two builders in the story, we face a fundamental choice: Do we rush to build our lives on
the shifting sands of fleeting pleasures and shallow ideals? Or do we take the time to lay a solid
foundation based on enduring principles and deep understanding?
The storms of life - challenges, setbacks, and unexpected turns - will come to us all. It's not a
matter of if, but when. In those moments, the foundation we've chosen reveals its true strength or
fatal weakness.
This poem serves as a gentle reminder: wisdom isn't just about knowing, but about doing. It's about
the daily choices we make, the habits we form, and the values we uphold, even when no one is
watching.
May we all strive to be wise builders, creating lives that can weather any storm and stand as a
testament to the power of a well-chosen foundation
